Great composition and light. It fells like you glimpse through a window and somehow the trees appear as if they were miniatures. I think this is due to your thoughtful inclusion of the foreground. And you're dead on - wintertime is not all that bright and snow is not always white. I'm not sure whether black and white would serve to enhance the mood. The frame does help the "looking through the window" feeling, but I find it a little destracting where it meets the foreground.

Lovely shot. It shows a deep sensibility for the magic atmosphere of winter in the woods. I feel i could hear my own breathing looking at this, it's very calm and quiet. The one thing i don't like is the branch on the left, it kinda steals my eyes from the rest of the shot and it is clearly not the main point.

Beautiful image. I don't think black and white would do it justice as the pinkish halo around the sun and the slight tint of the aspen are what make this such a nice photograph to look at. I'm not sure about the foreground branches. On the one hand I like the way they lead you to the open spaces beyond but on the other, they feel a little claustrophobic. I suppose without them it might be just another winter scene rather than an extra ordinary photograph. Nice work, Lennart.

I love this image, everything inside the black frame (which totally distracts from the wonderful artwork inside).... your composition is seductive and mysterious and keeps the eye wandering in the image. The muted colors are very expressive and emotive.... love it. Please consider a simple white frame, maybe I've seen too many black borders on postcards in racks, to me your image deserves to stand alone.
