Just a wonderful shot. This shot tells us about the importance of being there in the right place and at the right time. Congratulations!

A nice take on an oft-photographed subject. Beautiful hues as well. How did you manage to pull so much detail in the fg? was a GND sufficient?

Simple and striking at the same time! Excellent composition - and I love the muted ... Beautiful shot with such harmonious exposure. Stunning composition ... 7/7

Younes,

I used a grad against the sky as well as a foreground fill flash to keep detail in the fisherman's face and the feathers and face of the cormorant. Thanks for commenting!

Thanks for the info Michael. You certainly did a fantastic job here (then that's not exactly anything new :-D).

Firstly, I'd like to say that I like the composition of this photo quite a bit even if it is a scene that is captured quite often. I have to be honest and say I'm let down by the post processing though, for someone of your caliber to have allowed the haloing is very surprising. It is especially noticable around the cormarant's face and around the bow of the raft (also in other places when you look carefully).

While I think you are a very gifted photographer and I know you have an outstanding portfolio, I can't let that keep me from speaking up about this small flaw. Many people might find it acceptable but its something that I myself have had people comment about in regard to my own photos, therefore its something I always have an eye out for.

Its funny, I actually feel a little like a black sheep as I type this. Best regards,

Ry
