pnital 36 Posted November 12, 2007 A scene from the opening of my exhibition ,that was opened with a dance part of the group I work with, "Dance Drama Company" .( general reaharsal).some moments of very nice humour were part of the dance, this is one of them.... Choreography: Sally Anne Friedland. Dancer: Danit Buksbaum, Musician: Yaki Reuven Thanks for your thoughts, Pnina Link to comment

dseltzer 0 Posted November 13, 2007 This is a wonderful moment you've captured. It looks like the dancer (is that Danit?) wants to know first hand what it feels like to make a note, and I love her expression of innocent fascination. Yaki is so comfortably intent as he shares Danit's exploration and so very comfortably and affectionately holds his instrument. It is so obviously a part of himself. I'm especially interested in the lighting which I think is quite challenging in this kind of situation with so much light from the window behind the subjects. Judging by the shadow behind Yaki, you used a fill flash, and just the right amount to produce wonderful, soft, even lighting and excellent detail. This is one of my *many* favorites of your work! amalsircar 2 Posted November 13, 2007 Very good candid shot,Pnina. I like the composition and their natural expressions. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted November 13, 2007 A very sensitive shot. I love how you capture the stillness and focus of these artists (in this and all your photos). Each gives an impression on the world, a color and flavor. Your soft treatment underscores sensitive hearts, contributing music, dance, and beauty to the world. What a wonderful calling. pnital 36 Posted November 13, 2007 Adan and Amal Thanks, for your constant support and liking! David, glad to read your comment, but there is no use of flash here, it is the angle chosen in the room. the technicals are: ISO -500, SS - 1/20 ! F- 5.6 FL- 73MM Jeff, I think that dance which has a narrative ,as differenr from absrtract, is a microcosmus of human life... I like human life, and I look to find the points that are telling a story... Thanks for connecting to them, you and my other visitors . I'm really very thankfull to all of you. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted November 14, 2007 Make me smile. She looks like a kid trying out something new & interesting. Great body language. Link to comment
dseltzer 0 Posted November 14, 2007 Oops! I misinterpreted the shadow on the wall behind Yaki and made a wrong assumption. Thanks for telling the technical details... very helpful to my learning! Regards, David Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted November 14, 2007 You are the master of catching these intimate and beautiful moments between people. The light and your treatment of it is very good, I love the way the light from the window caresses the curve of the women's back. Such a wonderful and appropriate idea to have a performance at the opening of your exhibition. I am so happy for you that it has gone very well and all your hard work is meeting with it's due rewards. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted November 14, 2007 I think the net-like texture of her outer blouse, the way it hangs and catches the light, makes this an artistic and sensuous photo. It gives the image, warmth, depth, and much life. The connection I feel between the two people is conveyed by their attention on the instrument, an interesting dynamic. The hazy light which encompasses the image, emanating so ethereally from the window, is an unusual dimension. Link to comment

blackdogstudio 1 Posted November 19, 2007 My daer friend, you could not put the camera down, even on the day of your grand exhibition, could you?! This tender moment is beautifully composed. mbh 0 Posted November 28, 2009 On viewing this, I feel it captures a genuine, intimate moment between two people. The expressions of the two people are subtle, their 'poses' relaxed and natural. It's a lovely image. Link to comment
