Ironically, poverty is a photogenic subject - who could possibly take a bad photo of homeless people? They have so much tragedy written all over them that nobody can ignore looking at them. So of course, I had to stop and look at your photo. What first caught my eye was the density in the blacks (love it). Then, the composition falls into place. But this is when I really looked at the woman - her two head scarves, the cigarette, the torn nylon socks, the glasses in her shoes, the cardboard she's sitting on etc. And then, the cherry on the cake - the 'glamour' newspaper contrasting so much with her!! Who is living the dream??
