The still of rage 3

This year I decided to make a wide panorama. Thanks for comments and

suggestions.

I love this picture. It has the quality of a fantasy painting to it; the bend in the river and the saturated colors all contribute to the mood. But then I look closer and see it's all real! There are a lot of subtle composite shapes in the interaction between the rocks and the water that are fun to explore. There's a lot going on in the picture, but it really works. I also like how the rocks to the right and left in the foreground make an entryway into the picture. Nice composition!

Nina said it well. There is much to see in this image. I love the ribbons and swirls in the water.

A very nice and colorful effort. I commend your work, but, rotate the image 1.5 to 2 degrees counterclockwise for a more realistic view,then re-crop and replace border. See what it would look like and you may agree. See attachment.

Thanks Nina, I agree it is messy (though you were too polite to say so). It certainly looks like there is both lower and upper artistic limits on the elements one can include in a "good" compositions. In some of my other compositions, I heard some complaining about their simplicity. Few declared that those compositions are too simple to be enjoyable. On the other end, the compositions like this one may contain too much detail. What is the magic number that will give just the right balance?
