For the ones of you who haven't experiences such a steep sand dune

slope with 4X4, usually you just have to switch off the engine and

wait... then you car hear a rather loud sound-producing (e.g.,

roaring, booming, squeaking, singing, and sometimes musical) created

by the sand avalanches (also known as "audible acoustic energy"!).

Both the slides and the noise are impressive I can tell you !
