ian_king2 0 Posted November 8, 2007 There are a lot of people who can point a camera at some trees and a lake and take a decent photo, but this is well thought out. I really like your photo here, especially how the clouds reflect off the water and the leaves in the lower right hand side add the nice ripple. This is very cool. Link to comment

tmauro 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Very well composition. The dark sky creates a very suggestive atmosphere. Great light and colors. Congrats, Samir. Regards. Link to comment
josephboone 0 Posted November 8, 2007 It's not easy to capture a landscape shot this strong on a cloudy day. The grey sky tends to make everything look flat and drab and the best you can usually hope for is a B&W shot with some nice mood. But you've done a great job here of taking advantage of what looks to be a bit of sunshine lighting up the leaves. The ripples in the lake add the perfect amount of movement and interest and even the clouds add some drama with their patterns. Really well done! Link to comment
lukas ondrousek aka jozef 0 Posted November 9, 2007 To be honest, I never understood why are HDR shots like this one so popular on this portal(only). This one is a typical example of HDR shot, which emphasizes only the HDR technique, instead of the content, composition or colors. For comparison, I really don't see this image as eye pleasing(in the terms of aesthetics) as this(just an example): http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=6471535&size=lg Take my comment only as a subject for discussion. It's more about the whole HDR issue, not particularly this photo. Jozef ps: just for the record, i really like HDR technique. But from my point of view, it's usefull if it makes good photo wonderful. when it supports natural beauty - and eliminates weak points of photographic equipment. Link to comment

yereth 0 Posted November 10, 2007 I guess I have to go with Jozef here.. I find that often the HDR photos I see on photo.net look very unnatural. I can see why people use it, but I can't say I'm very fond of the technique. Probably I can appreciate it when it's not that obvious it's an HDR. Well, let's take this to the discussion forum, perhaps. :) For the record, I do like your portfolio very much. You have fabulous portraits in them, honestly. I just feel this one is a bit overrated.
