rekaras 0 Posted November 5, 2007 I like thie one best of the three latest. The composition on all three are very good. I'm not real big on blue and green combinations (personal preferences) but I like the images and your choice point of perspective. Thanks for all your comments and recommendations lately. I take them to heart. I enlarged some of the recent submissions I hope they come out looking larger. All the best and thanks again for your help I appreciate every bit of it. rek Link to comment
fhmillard 0 Posted November 8, 2007 I also like this one best. The lighting captured on chateau in the background is superb here; and the whole scene is well contrasted in the blue/green duotone. Shadow on right edge of foreground building maybe looks a little artificial, but I like it. The diagonal of the composition expertly shows near/far giving visual interest throughout the scene. Your attention to vertical alignment, of tops of buildings, adds depth to this masterpiece. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Thank you Richard and Frank. The shadow on the right edge is not artificial at all. What can make you think that ? It is very dark, indeed, if you compared it with the shadow inside the arches. I can't explain why. Perhaps because of the reflection of light from the other side of the arches. In all case, you can see that the intensity of the shadow on the edge is about the same of the shadow casted on the front. Link to comment
fhmillard 0 Posted November 9, 2007 I meant the shadow is very black with no light diffusion. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted November 16, 2007 Henri, As others have commented, the strong point here is the composition. The high contrast both in light and in colour provides high impact to this one. Great decision to include only a sliver of sky; just enough to frame the subjects but not enough to compete with them. Also my favourite of your three most recent posts though the other two aren't trailing too far behind. Always a visual treat to see your latest offerings. Best, LM. Link to comment
