birteragland 1 Posted November 3, 2007 If anyone has ever been through the countryside of Australia, they will be confronted with many scenes such as this, where once there was bush and trees and plenty of wildlife, now there is nothing but dead growth and untenable, unsustainable land useless for any sort of agricultural purpose. This was bought on by farmers trying to recreate the rolling pastoral lands of good old England, they forgot to take the climate into consideration before they raped it. adidoo 0 Posted November 4, 2007 Oh okay. Yeah that's so true, if only they learnt from the aboriginies... =( It's also partially because we're in drought right now. Great shot! Link to comment
caz 1 Posted November 4, 2007 Powerful image Birte! Keep up the good work! Where I live in South Africa it's very worrying to see the development which is spreading like wildfire (with no consideration for wildlife or the environment). Around 3kms from home there is an area where around 60 mongeese are literally 'trapped' by the development going on around them. I don't quite know what to do, but tomorrow I'll start making calls etc... as I would like to see them relocated to a safe environment. Rgds Carole Link to comment
