Very happy with the results I'm getting with my new G9. ISO 80, RAW,

5 horizontals stitched in CS3.

Excellent image. I'm thinking about the G9 to go with my 20D and soon to be 40D. I already have a Fuji f10 and f30, but I love IS.

On paper the G9 looks really sweet, and I love to post process my landscape RAWS. I've gone through a lot of compacts looking for a quality light weight compact solution that can produce a quality landscape image. Your image looks like it could fit the bill. Would love to hear some more of your thoughts on how it handles the landscapes.

If you want RAW the G9 seems to top a short list. All of the reviews I've read give it top honors, while pointing out some obvious flaws (noise at high ISO), but pointing out that it isn't bad compared to other point and shoots. I just use ISO 80-100 and a tripod when needed and am very happy with the results.

I also have a Rebel XT and will continue to use it at times, but I do a lot of backcountry climbing and skiing, so the smaller camera which is easier to carry on my pack waist band to "grab & shoot" a priority for me. I'd love it if they could get all the G9 features into a smaller, lighter, and equally tough body, but don't see how with present technology. When they do I'll give the G9 to my wife and get it!
