Since I am a bit of a color junkie, this is my 'fix'. beautiful and varied colors. Would rate this highly if you submitted it.

Tony, Thanks for validating this one. It's one of my favourites from the autumn shoots of 2007. I've printed it a couple of times & once at Costco 12"x18"(my printer only does 8.5"x11") Sorry about the ratings thing; I neither give them out nor do I seek them. (waste of time without comments I feel) Don't be a stranger! Best, LM.

I like the rich tones in the foreground shade. It's these kinds of richness that makes it feel and look so real.

Arthur, Always a pleasure to hear from you. I didn't realize it at the time of exposure; only after I saw the shot on screen did I see the full range & luminosity of colours. A pleasant surprise indeed! Best, LM.

Very nice and colorful composition. Feels nicely the change of seasons. The colors are so vivid. I like the way you have composed it with the nice DOF.

Pnina, You know the old adage,"... throw enough spaghetti at the wall & some is bound to stick." Well, take enough photos & you're bound to get a decent one once in a while. :-) Thanks for taking the time & for your kind words. (which I happen to agree with) [more :-)] . Best, LM.

Len, IMHO this is the best of your recent shots. Coming from a latitude where we don't get four seasons and certainly don't get grass that colour, I am envious. I particularly like the dark trunks against all the vivid colour of grass and leaves. The most distant dark trunk is an absolute bonus as it draws me deeper into the image.

Jeff, Thanks for the observations. I agree with your assessement on the feeling of depth the dark tree trunks give & also feel that the lighter center surrounded by the darker tones adds to this feeling. Also my favourite of my most recent efforts. Since this location is so close to home I'm thinking of doing a seasonal series from the same vantage point, the next one being a snowy atmosphere. Stay tuned. Best, LM.

Paula, Thanks for the kind words. This is the one-in-a-hundred we all speak about; the keeper we all strive for. My reward for persevering:-) Best, LM.

So happy this one made such an impression on you.  It's one of my all-time favourites as well.  And made with a 6 mpx P&S camera to boot!  I've printed many 12" x 18" photos from that camera and I'm sure this one would give more than satisfactory results should I decide to go that route.  (I thought I HAD printed it that size but I can't find it right now)  There was probably no other day of the year when all the elements in this one came together as well as they did here.  Like you say, 'Right place, right time............'.  Luck is good!  Thanks for your interest & comment.  Best to you in the New Year,  LM.
