jana 1 Posted October 29, 2007 soft and beautiful. The leaves are gently resting on the stone, not screaming Here I am , so one can actually fully enjoy the velvet waterfall. cheers Jana Link to comment
lesa jones 0 Posted October 30, 2007 Thanks Afshin and Jana for the comments. Jana, I have been racking my brain trying to come up with a title for this one, and thanks to your comment, I think I will name it Velvet Waterfall--thanks for the insight. Regards...LJ Link to comment
timkeller 0 Posted October 30, 2007 My own critique request went in right next to yours and pales by comparison: your photo is exquisite! I gave yours a pair of sixes and wonder if I'm getting too stingy. Beautiful. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted October 30, 2007 Lesa, Thanks, I feel honored. . . For me, the right title is essential and can enhance the image a lot. As some people have little phantasy and need this little push up in the right direction. On the other hand , I am not for explicit titles, they are killing the phantasy. I like titles, that provoke the imagination of the viewer so he/she can stay longer looking at the image. BE PREPARED - that is my life slogan. I have a microsoft Access database, where I put phrases, that could come handy as a title. I always carry a little pad and pencil, and write whatever comes to my mind, it means also possible photo titles. It can be triggered spontaniously, it can be a title of a song, book, lyrics, what I read in a magazine, commertial... I have collected around 800 titles by now. I search in the db in case I cannot come up with a right (feel) title for my new photograph. It is in about 20% of cases. cheers Jana Link to comment

wood 1 Posted November 1, 2007 Nice work, Lesa. Simple, well composed, with excellent exposure. I like the inclusion of the leaves; without them the image is not as effective. Link to comment
