color 3 Posted October 28, 2007 Good abstract, good compositon. One suggestion: Add some color saturation to the masonry structure on the left. Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted October 28, 2007 Thanks, Chuck, I'll play with the saturation a bit but it may be a balancing act. Link to comment
color 3 Posted October 28, 2007 Hi Dave; If you have Photoshop you can selectively add saturation by increasing the saturation of a background layer copy and then erasing the parts that are too saturated OR: if your version has a saturation brush, (on the toolbar with the burn and dodge tools) brush in some more saturation. OR#2: You can, well I won't go into more ways, but there at least three more ways that come to mind to selectively add saturation and I don't want to make this an attempt at an exhaustive Photoshop tutorial. Like most stuff you can do in Photoshop there are a lot of ways to do things. I think the two ways I mentioned would be pretty accessable and worth playing with. Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted October 28, 2007 Thanks for the tips, Chuck! I'm hoping I'll have time to really learn how to do this stuff this winter (after I retire and while I'm undistracted by fishing.) Right now, my processing is still on a 'whole-image" basis. Link to comment
color 3 Posted October 29, 2007 Dave, if you want to get into Photoshop, and I mean the real thing, not Elements, it's probably a good idea to take a class. I had Photoshop for a good while, but really it wasn't until I had a class at the local community college that I started to benefit from having the software. Having good facility in Photoshop can make a tremendous difference in the quality of the images that you turn out. Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted October 29, 2007 Impressive industry abstract! Now a "whole-image"-tip: Post your pictures rather not wider than 679px, like that you can do the amount of sharpening, else, a photo.net-algorithm will do that for you - and that is no good... Link to comment

thadley 15 Posted November 9, 2007 I like the contrast: black vs white and the vertical lines. I am trying to imagine what this would look like at sunrise or close to sunset: might add some warmth to the image. Link to comment
