culturedphoto.com 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Hi Ian. The processing isnt quite right on this one for me ... it just looks a little off. Certainly not far off though. Compositionally I think it can be improved. Lifting the camera would have moved those mini trees from breaking the line of the rocks. I would also crop th burnt out sky out of the shot to focus on the layers of rocks, water and then trees. I can also see a potential portrait version, moving to the left, using the lines in the immediate forground, the rocks in the mid distance with the bigger rock in the rear just filling in before the green of the trees. Hope that helps. Dan Link to comment
diego_diaz 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Beautiful colors and textures. Perhaps with a bit longer exposure, the cascade would have appeared softer, which would balance the texture of those rocks a bit better. In that case, you might need a ND filter to avoid washing out the rest of the picture. Thanks for sharing! Link to comment
irsteve 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Thanks Dan & Diego I appreciate your constructive comments - I have several shots from this location including a view without the " mini" trees and one with a slower exposure - although in this case I feel its a personal choice whether running water should appear like steam or, (my preference), more natural as seen by eye. This is my second submission which seems to be better received than the first so, maybe, I'll have another try later Link to comment
