gcgrant 0 Posted October 25, 2007 I really like this image - simple and understated, yet very refined and to the point. How did you get the background to blur? Lensbabies, Photoshot or camera technique? Link to comment
stanislav 0 Posted October 25, 2007 GC Grant, thank you for your comment! The blur comes from a wide open aperture (f 2.8) at 90 mm focal length. Besides RAW and cropping, rescaling, sharpening, frame no PS was applyed. Best regards, Stanislav Link to comment
myaggie2 0 Posted October 25, 2007 I have no critique. Just praise. I opened this one because it attracted my eye. The large version is even lovlier. Very elegant. Link to comment
carlwakefield 0 Posted October 25, 2007 I think the photo would be better if it was sharper on the main flower head and a little more DOF. This should be possible with out losing the nice out of focus effect in the rest of the picture. Just more of the main flower head in focus and a little sharper. If you take it a simular shot I think a ray of sunshine or light will improve the whole effect more. Regards Carl Link to comment
stanislav 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Ivana, Aggie, Jirarote, Mary, Andrzej- thank you! Carl- thanks for the suggestions! Regarding the DOF you perhaps are right, something like f3.5 or even f4 instead of f2.8 would have been a thing to try. Regarding the light- these flowers don't work in direct sunlight because the contrast is too big for camera sensors to handle. Perhaps I should have added more contrast as demonstrated by Piotr. Piotr- cool, a different view of the same scene. :-) Not so dreamy but I like it very much. I really appretiate your suggestion. Best regards, Stanislav Link to comment
