Sumac

LenMarriott

A 'must shoot' for autumn colour. I remember the name of this colourful bush only because it sounds like 'Big Mac'. :-) Taken with a Canon A540 on 'A' mode. 1\30 @ f8, 23.2mm (140mm equiv) 'Vivid' saturation. Tripod, 2 sec timer. Best, LM.

Henri, Thanks for your thoughts. I am always impressed by the range of colours and patterns in the leaves. A fall favourite with me. Best, LM.

'Point & Shoot' cameras are normally noted for their inherent great

DOF. Here, an exception surfaces. Since the smallest aperture

available is f8, when being used in the telephoto position as was the

case for this shot, the DOF, is actually insufficient. Your thoughts

on this shot will be gratefully received. Best, LM.

Wow, intense color. I love sumac in the fall and can't imagine a better photographic capture of its essence.

LJ, Thanks for happening by. The intense colour you noted is partially due to setting the camera on 'Vivid' colour saturation. The rest was compliments of Mother Nature. Sumac is indeed one of autumn's 'must shoot' subjects.

Tony, Thanks for the comment. I'll be over for a visit soon.

Best, LM.
