I like the shot as it conveys the gloomy skies there right now. The photos in the news look quite bad there today. Hope everything is well on your side. Best of luck.

But the forum is for photo critique and I think the central position of the sun is not the most appropriate. Would also like to see more of the bottom part to have a more balanced composition.

What this image really lacks is a sense of how red the sun was. The digital sensor just gets overloaded, regardless of the exposure. Last time around, I had film available, and got much more accurate images of this sort.

As to placement of the sun, what this image is about for me is the smoke, as highlighted by the sun, and as set off by the blue sky. Although thankfully these fires have hardly affected me at all, they make for some very unsettling effects.
