aepelbacher 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Again, I find these guys absolutely disgusting ... but they were SO easy to shoot. Thoughts? Link to comment
bertr 0 Posted October 24, 2007 A warthog is a warthog is a warthog...Since, as I am certain, his mother loves him, he cannot be disgusting...You managed to make a great image of this lovely animal. How did you get so close? Out in the wild, they are very shy.. Best effort. ..Bert Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted October 24, 2007 Thanks for your visit, Bert. Actually, these warthogs in/near Nairobi and on the Maasai Mara Game Reserve were like squirrels back here in the states. They were everywhere! This particular guy was wandering the grounds of the Rothschild Giraffe center ... and I used a long lens to catch him. But I have to say that when I went on the game drives on the safari, we saw them just as plentiful and just as close. I'm sure his mother thinks he's beautiful. I'm sure my mother thinks I'm beautiful, too. LOL!! :-) Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted November 4, 2007 Lou Ann, This one is near the top of my 'favourites' list (of your Africa shots). Love the intimacy of the close up, the sharpness of the hairs, and the subtlties of the colours. You lucked out with the soft lighting; bright sun would have concealed many details in deep shadow. A face only a mother could love (and a father could die laughing at- Looked in the mirror lately father?). I also like your full length portrait of him but intimacy trumps overall any day. Best, LM.
