scotland Rolls of Hay {revised}

Hi, and thanks for the comment on my hay! Hay bales and fields are one of my favorite subjects. If you can, check out the PN portfolio of Patrick DiFruscia. He is one of my favorite landscape artists here on PN, and he has an absolutely fabulous hay image, or actually more than one.

I like this image, the color is rich and the golds contrast nicely with the blues in the clouds. Love the interest the blackbirds add in the field. I notice the ends of this hay are colored, do you know why? Here in the US south, I have never seen color on bales. I might prefer the POV from a little lower and closer to the nearest bale so the horizon wouldn't be smack in the middle, but that is just nitpiking! This is a beautiful image.
