atanu_ghosh1 0 Posted October 22, 2007 It is not a castle from Harry Potter series but a "make-shift temple" housing Goddess Durga. Worship of Goddess Durga during four days in autumn is the biggest cultural cum religious festival of the Bengalis. The festival has its tradition in religion, but now has taken the form of a four day and night long festivity and carnival. The idols are housed in make-shift temples made out of variety of materials like tent-cloth, bamboo, card-board, etc. The architects of these make-shift temples show great creativity in designing them and many times they resemble famous monuments or structures of historical or fictional origin. These structures are destroyed after the festivity is over. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted October 24, 2007 Hmmm. Looks familiar, I read from the news that the designers had some trouble with copyright of the design. Great view. Link to comment
