Owens River Tributary

tom grubbe

This stream runs from Lake Crowley toward Benton Crossing Road, although I think it's considered part of the Owens River (someone will correct me). Thanks Eric Rosen for pointing me to this place!

Many times we look for nice sunny days to shoot. On this day in the

Eastern Sierras it was overcast and cold. I approached this shot

knowing that it would be a rather subtle shot. I liked the mountains

in the background and chose a somewhat useful foreground.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated.

I like the moodiness. I'd be interested in knowing how you achieved such apparently high depth of field at f11, especially with a 67 camera. The foreground grass looks a bit blurry, which could be due to wind induced movement or perhaps due to the focus point being in the middle of the picture. Either way, this is the type of subtle and understated photo that I enjoy seeing.
