Pokut plateau, Camlihemsin, Rize, Turkey.

Pokut is one of the small plateaus at North-Eastern Turkey, close to

Kackar Mountains. This is an Alpine region. The photo was taken at

late August. Your comments are appreciated.

It's a well composed shot of a beautiful scene. For some reason, it doesn't really "pop"--at least in this on-line format (I suspect a large print might have more impact.)

Thanks for your comment, which I agree. I think there should have been some more definition between the foreground and the middle ground. They are of almost the same tonal range and color. This introduces some flatness. Also, a strong focus of interest is lacking and the eyes wander around. Still, I like this photo mostly due to its memory value. Technically, I am pleased with the DOF I was able to reach.

Your critique is absolutely on target (and very instructive.) Your framing gives the eye some guidance but needs the help of a more definite focal point. The dof is, indeed, outstanding!
