Please view "larger". They say that tall mountains create their own weather conditions. Yesterday in Rocky Mountain National Park, it was obvious that this is so. These little clouds were sitting on the tops of most of the taller mountains. It was a gorgeous day.

Is the right side of the image too dark? Any other thoughts?

Hello Lou Ann

Very nice mountain vista and a pretty balanced composition. I would, however, crop it a bit from the top - as I think the sky part is a bit too heavy and distracting. When it comes to your question - it's not too dark. It'a about right on my screen. What you could do is to play a bit with shadows & highlights contrasts - to make this image more vivid and more 3-dimensional. Are you familiar with LightZone software ? It's quite amazing and very easy to use.

All in all - very nice shot. I would love to see it illuminated with some gentle sunrise/sunset light.

Greetings from Scotland :)

Thank you Ted & Piotr. Piotr - I especially appreciate the time that you spent giving me pointers. I have admired your landscape shots for a long time!

It's a pleasure Lou Ann. I only wish I had more time to comment on more & more photos, as pure rates are not so much useful. If you have any specific questions about Photoshop or other post-processing tips I would love to answer that.

Lovely composition & beautiful lighting :) The clouds look as though they are painted. Simply lovely :)

Lou Ann, very beautiful landscape. good light, and shadows of the mountains under the blue clouded sky. The clouds are a bit " immitating" the line of the mountains...;-))

I hope you are well.

Oooh, Lou Ann, these are going to be even more gorgeous with a frosting of snow on them. I hope that the autumn is kind to you there.
