corinne_svala 0 Posted October 20, 2007 Natural attitude, movement of hair, mood, innocence but already ready to enter into adults "stage",light, texture, softness. Well everything to make a perfect b/w portrait. The definition is so great that seems i ve this person in front of me in real.Best regards Jo ;) Link to comment
bramadan 0 Posted October 20, 2007 One more excellent portrait, it is always hard to say something immediatly after you posted a masterpiece (father and son) but this one is trully good candid. Love her expression. Link to comment
teresa.zafon 0 Posted October 20, 2007 Beautiful portrait. I love the expresion you have captured here and B&W tones are excellent. Very nice. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 20, 2007 I do not know how to explain my self in proper English, I can keep viewing this image for ages and still would continue to view it more. Amazing balanced exposure here, perfect mood, fine details, very well blured background, perfect contrast and tone, you have all of the photographic technical elements plus the atmosphere all in one portrait work. Well done my friend and wishing you and yours all of the best Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted October 20, 2007 I love that this isn't one of those pearly-white, blinded by the light portraits. It's a surly teen framed by her own confusing hair. This is how I remember adolescence/young adulthood (sans ponytail). Link to comment
rivera r 0 Posted October 20, 2007 Beautiful capture of a lovely face, great moment of thinking and making choices. Congrats, Joseph! Link to comment

jcpopper 0 Posted October 20, 2007 It never ceases to fascinate me -- as it does you -- how many different ways an image can be interpreted. Without going into detail -- I don't want to instruct anyone on how to view this -- I owe it to this young woman to say that she wasn't being surly. She was intensely observing something important to her. But after looking at it again, I can see exactly what you mean. Thanks so much for your comment. Regards, Joe Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted October 20, 2007 Pure projection on my part. I worked for ten years as a psychologist with adolescents, so I think I'm revealing the emotional residue of working with kids. Whether thoughtful or sour, this is a portrait that has an emotional kick to it, elevating it from the typical "Smile and say cheese" shots. Link to comment
mariolupo 0 Posted October 21, 2007 Attractive , intense , classic lines and stunningly crafted b/w. Photography to feel affection for. All the best regards Joe , from Mario Link to comment
thadley 14 Posted October 21, 2007 A beautiful image: very good looking profile, nice light and well captured. And I agree with all of the previous comments. Even though I would rate this 6/6, I feel a deep need to see the eyes which is the soul and the inner door and this is just my personal preference. I recognize that i cannot see her eyes with this camera angle and it would mean a completely different pose and a completely different image. So my congrats on a well done portrait where I will fantasize about her eyes (*_*). best regards, Link to comment
Funtak 0 Posted October 21, 2007 I feel the same way as Tony does, nevertheless I like it, it is a fine portarit. Link to comment

gatzelis 0 Posted October 21, 2007 Joe you have excellent tones. Very sharp and also soft. Great work. I had a view of your portfolio. A lot of new, beautiful photos. You have a lot to give...I ll come in the end of the week not in the beginning to enjoy them. Congrats with my best regards. Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted October 21, 2007 mario, PhoS, Yiannis, Elena -- Thank you all for your thoughtful comments and encouragement. I appreciate it very much. Tony & Vladimir -- I understand your yearning for eye contact, and I usually pay special attention to eyes, but sometimes, I think, it's what you don't see that creates the most "tension." I welcome your comments, and will think about them carefully, because I respect your views and your work. Regards, Joe Link to comment

dianadeaver 0 Posted October 22, 2007 Joe, I am starting to notice a pattern...a signature style. Your portraits are becoming more and more characteristic...they represent real people in real moments. Your portraits show a human nature independent of any artifacts or accessories. The technique is very good here. Perfectly focused, this image gives the viewer to interpret it freely. Link to comment
neville hammond 0 Posted October 22, 2007 I agree with all of the comments above from many PN friends who are far more eloquent than I. This is truly a natural, most expressive portrait which communicates many emotions to the viewer. I think this is one of your best without doubt. Congratulations. Neville H. Link to comment
glaucodattini 0 Posted October 22, 2007 Excellent portrait! You captured a meaningful moment that increases the value of this shot together with a good light and details and realisation in B&W. Best regards! Glauco Link to comment
