Hallo everybody,

Arromanches Les Bains is a nice, small village just at the center of

the invasion beaches of June 1944. Here the English troops built up

an artificial port in something like 12 days. Only ruins remain

nowaday, after more than 60 years of tides and heavy sea. Some of

them can be clearly seen on the beach.

I hope you enjoy this picture, and would be very glad to read your

thoughts on it, thanks in advance for your time.

Paolo

Thank you for sharing this image. I love the way the buildings look so sharp and yet everything else look so soft. Must be something to do with exposure values. Execellent nevertheless. Regards. Taha

Thank you all for commenting, I'm glad you like this picture. Taha, you're quite right, it's a bit dark. Even if part of the dark feeling comes out from the jpg compression. The original file is dark as well, but details are fully readable all over.

Cheers, paolo

Thank you for providing a bit of story to go along with your beautiful image. The darkness does not distract from the scene but only adds to it for me. I would only suggest that you erase that blue-white-red flag that is next to the bottom of the frame. Once a person sees it, it is difficult to ignore.

Congratulations on making page one of TRP Landscapes (for the last 24 hours)!

Thanks again to all for your kind comments.

Shawn, you're right, I didn't notice that! - I'm speaking about the flag... and about the TRP! :-))

Cheers, Paolo

Paolo, this is a beautiful shot. Love the way the cliff extends to center of frame and the layers of color. Very nice capture sir. My best, Michael
