I miss the flat midwestern landscape and those skies. I recall getting up early to deliver newspapers on foot with such skies overhead.

Thank you all for noticing this shot. The colors are real. I did little more than crop and sharpen -- and not even much of that. The RAW image has subtler coloration. Jeff, I'm sure you recall the range of colors in Midwest sunsets and sunrises on a partly cloudy day. Regards...

No, it's quite a bit upriver from there. This was taken near Parkville, a small town between KC and St. Joe. But I understand mistaking one for the other. The Hermann stretch of the river is beautiful. Thanks very much for your comment.

An excellent composition Joe. The colours and textures are great and the composition conveys great atmosphere to the viewer. What a mighty river,I would love to be there.

Very beautiful picture Joe, as usual! I like the horizontal cut, the composition (the branches in the right side give emphasis to the DOF), the warm colors of the sunset.
