Kenrick, an absolutely fascinating and complex image, but I'm trying to figure out the relevance to the title. Extremely good PS work and composition with lots of impact.

I would like to see this image without this not so good treatment, just plainly as a b/w image. I bet, it would look much better. Probably a 7/7 Layering texture is a delicate task. You always has to chose a delicate balance of the subject and the additional texture, or what ever adding to it. I like you image, but as I said, not like this form. Sorry! I cant put it more delicately. The child is not an ART, it is a story and you ruin the story. I known with a good intention. Didn't work. I am not criticizing you, I try to help you.

Best regards; Bela

Bela I appreciate your comment but it seems as though you were almost on the right track when you said "this child is not an ART" and then you missed the point completely. It is meant to be sarcastic. Maybe you need to read the title again and also browse the portfolios of some of the "artists" on PN.

Hypocrisy - The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness; a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude.

Everything you see here is deliberate. There is the original version which I will post eventually as well as there is another shot from this series in my portfolio if you care to take a look.

Roger, I think Bela proved my point. Too often many artistic photographers become so absorbed in creating their perfect piece they neglect the situation, especially in instances where discrimination, poverty, etc. are concerned. What have they actually done to help? In most instances they were inspired by someone else's misfortune. They call it art and they call themselves artists.

Your artistic PS manipulation is beyond my reach and is a matter of taste as well as to what the photographer had in mind,to be able to rate it.3/3 raters may not always be bad photographers, but the number of visits in their folios reminds me of talking about Siberia.Everybody knows where it is,but noone wants to go there!

I agree with you, many people take desperate situations to make themselves a name as artists, and they truly do not care about their subject, is just an easy manner to attract attention. I appreciate very much your mind and your reaction to this many abuses of photographers on the neglected ones( whether the environment or the inhabitants of it). We are the call to fix all these problems, sometimes the call starts with the eyes but can not end there. Great treatment of the subject and effects.
