kenya, africa, summer 2007 Cheetah on the Maasai Mara

Another shot from the safari. The cheetahs were some of the most elusive animals. This one was in a group who wanted to hunt ... but our driver told us that because humans were nearby, they probably would not do so. The humans that he meant were a group about a quarter mile away whose driver had pulled over and they had gotten out of the truck for a picnic meal on the safari. Apparently, if everyone nearby had stayed in their safari vehicles, the cheetahs would have definitely taken off on their high speed hunts. Very interesting....
