Wonderful girl, very nice idea :) I would like the face to be more focused - her eyes are amazing... Best regards, Svet1a

My in-laws have a book of classic Native American photos compiled from the past couple centuries. This appears lifted from that book in feel and execution. Nicely done.

Svetla, Thank you. I wish she had been in focus as well. This was taken in a rush, the little girl wasn't aware that her picture was being taken and she was moving around. I loved her sweet expression and felt it was worthwhile even though it wasn't in perfect focus.

Ahmed, Thank you, I'm glad you like it.

Jeff, Thanks! Would your inlaws book be the work of Edward S. Curtis by any chance? That's where my inspiration for the sepia tones came from.

I took a look and thought "Curtis," and then saw you had already mentioned him. This does have a wonderful similarity to the tone and feel of his classic shots. A great portrait. Regards, Joe

You did a nice job of this despite the slight softness, Linda. I like it cropped a bit tighter on the right though. Here's another alternative just for the expression, and the enveloping black background.

Very nice Linda, I like the timelessness of this shot, which the sepia tones emphasises. I think also that the softness in the face is quite in character with old fashioned photos and it doesn't bother me at all. It is significan that despite the softness, you captured a beautiful expression on her face. Excellent work. Best regards - michel

Thanks Michel. I appreciate your kind remarks. This really is about the girl's expression. She feels magnificent in her regalia, but is a little shy about being looked at.

Wow, this is so beautiful and timeless. I love the tones and softness. Her expression is sweet and innocent and I like how this young girl is dressed in a traditional costume. Regards. Denise
