Paolo - you should write for the ONE, like me, who actually reads, writes critiques and thinks before rating. More faith! Your camera is absolutely the best - the camera, the lens, the filter. And I can see it's in the hands of a master. This is gorgeous! Could not be better. National Geographic quality. You would probably make the South Bronx, NY look good :) Cheers -

Although I can honestly understand your frustration, it is sometimes best to let the photograph do the talking! On the other hand and as already indicated, I would still write something for those who do actually read the description of the images submitted. As far as this shot is concerned I truly believe that its truly awesome. Apart from the wonderful tones, precise sharpness and detail its composition and presentation further contribute to an excellent shot. A sincere 'Well Done'.

Thank you everybody, I didn't expect such a warm and friendly response to my bell ringing... :-)

Actually I was just kidding, as I'm used to receive many comments on my pictures, many many more than those that I leave to other's. Nevertheless, it's a matter of fact that too many pictures here on PN pass by in a few minutes and nobody notice them. Two evenings ago I was at my desktop pc working at some photographs with an IE window open on the photo critique forume page. Just for curiosity, I tracked a photo, following it from the moment of its submission to the moment of its slipping off from the bottom of the page. The entire "process" took 20 minutes! This is actually the life span of a picture here on PN, 20 minutes! People just keep posting, and posting, and posting, and too few stop by watching, thoroughly rating and commenting.

But you are right, Alberta, Stephen, it's for them that it's worth to continue to write, comment, rate...

Simply, sometimes this community seems to me to be a bit overcrowded. And just as other overcrowded places, sometimes I dislike it. Have a look at my portfolio, if you wish, and you will understand what I mean...

Thanks again to everybody,

Paolo

P.S. Alberta, you made my face look as a red pepper, I don't think I deserve all those compliments. Nevertheless, I will follow your suggestion and submit my photos to the National Geographic. Who knows, they could even offer me a contract for a "South Bronx Well Hidden Natural Beauties" photographic service... :-))))

Hello Paolo

Great capture and wonderful contrasts.

I like it a lot and the square format suits here very well.

I wouldn't change a single thing here :]

Nice note too :P

Cheers, Piotr
