alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted October 11, 2007 Reflections on a downtown office building just before sunset. No manipulation. Your comments/critiques most welcome. Thanks! Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted October 11, 2007 And a slew of bad ratings :( ........ I'm not even going to look. Link to comment
lex_photo 0 Posted October 11, 2007 Your ratings don't look that bad, but about the picture. This is so cool, I can't believe that the white is that white. The reflections have such great detail as well, This is a wonderfully done picture. - Lex Link to comment
godfather 0 Posted October 12, 2007 This i looked already earlier yesterday. This looks pretty much perfect in my eyes. I would only crop some from the upper corners where the top window row breaks. Or cut the left side so the building corner would be cut out and after that would turn this like 90 degrees CW. Just a thoughts. rgs Tero. Ps. I like this new style a lot. Link to comment
o_matej 0 Posted October 17, 2007 Great photo - the white stripes make it almost unreal...nice light, too!Cheers! Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted October 30, 2007 Very nice capture. The solid white bands running through the reflection add an interesting contrast to the darker vertical lines and break up the image in a dramatic way. You are doing some very interesting work with the buildings in St. Pete's. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted October 30, 2007 Thanks. If my camera wasn't being held captive by Nikon repair, I'd be doing more :( Cheers - Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted October 30, 2007 I hope they get your camera back to you soon. My 20d has been acting up lately, it just goes blank and dies. So far, removing and re-inserting the battery gets it back up and running but I have fears that it will get worse. I'm just hoping to get through the fall before I have to send it to Canon. alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted October 30, 2007 The camera arrived home about an hour ago. Haven't had time to test but I'm assuming it's fine. In total, it was gone for 20 days. That included shipping time. I chose the "slow boat" (5 days from sending to delivery) to Nikon's upstate NY repair facility because I'm - well - frugal. The work was fully covered under warranty. All in all, not too bad an experience. But I did miss my favorite photo taking event of the year - Guavaween, Tampa Florida's unique version of Halloween. Oh well. Good luck with your Canon. gordonjb 10,860 Posted October 30, 2007 I'm glad you are back up and running. I can now look forward to new and interesting shots of St. Petersburg. Link to comment
maria 7 Posted November 5, 2007 I was also thinking about including or not the left part on the other side of the corner. But after reflecting I came to the conclusion that it is well the way it is. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted November 5, 2007 Thanks for your comment. I think that corner tells a completely different story and adds interest to the photo. I'm glad you agree - it stays! Cheers - Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted November 18, 2007 Very interesting perspective with the blank lines interrupting the flow of the reflection. The distorted image of the buildings are compelling to look at. Don't pay attention to the anonymous 3's. They are a pain. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted November 18, 2007 Nikon in the shop? Caaaanonnn, Caaanonnn, Caanonnn! :-) Love the way the white melds in with the white screen background (probably works equally well in a printed & matted version.) Any photoshop to take out vertical thingies in the white areas? Very impressive reflection shot, that's for sure. Now get out there (with a friends Canon, of course) and shoot some more of these Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted November 19, 2007 Thanks for stopping by. The Nikon's been home and very well for a while now, thank you very much. As for the vertical thingies, cropping did the trick. I did boost the contrast making the white considerably whiter but it's really white to begin with. I'll be downtown next week to try a get me some more of these babies :) Cheers - Link to comment
