billkantor 0 Posted October 8, 2007 Jukka, Intriguing image... Tonally rich, but it looks a bit grainy. Is that intentional? Very nice otherwise. Bill Link to comment
juke 0 Posted October 8, 2007 The grain is not intentional, the print is grainless. The grain is caused by my negative scanner that over emphasizes grain when scanning silver based films :( Link to comment
juke 0 Posted October 8, 2007 I uploaded new version, which I run through noise removal filter. I hope that it's better. At least grain is not so emphasized. Link to comment
billkantor 0 Posted October 8, 2007 Looks better Jukka. Still see some grain though and I wouldn't want to push the grain filter any further as you may sacrifice sharpness. I don't have any experience with the scanning problem you describe. Does it help to scan in color and pick the channel that has the least grain? You say the print is smooth. So did you produce a conventional wet darkroom print? If that is your work-flow and your final output, then this grain here is moot isn't it? Cheers,Bill Link to comment
juke 0 Posted October 8, 2007 Yes I do all printing in conventional wet process. It seems that I should always make a smaller print for scanning purpose. Link to comment
