I like the overall look of the photo. The blue eyes really stand out against the "old masters" look of the rest of the image. Don't know if it was manipulated, but has the look of he High Pass stuff Joey Lawrence does with such effect. Choice of limited DOF takes the viewers focus off the light bulb nicely and balances the composition. Very effective portrait.

A fine portrait. Beautifully composed with great colour tone . A good tribute to a teacher of painting. Great use of light and colour. A 7/7 for your work. Best regards

It seems he is/was a good teacher to you. The image is not only excellent but it also shows a bit of both your personality and his personality. The edge of the wall behind the head is a bit distracting but the difference in focus keeps it from presenting a real problem.

It is shot in his rural house on a background of a wall, which this

the bulb also shines. At me behind a back a window, on the person light from a window.

Any especial tricks not made: only a raising of sharpness, correction of color,

balance of lighting/shadow. The customer (it was made to order for one project)

has especially emphasized: " In Photoshop only technical correction ".

Fantastic, simple, beautiful portrait.

My only complaint would be the stuff at the lower right over his left shoulder--mildly distracting.

Well done Viesturs.

To me it's a great picture but the eyes have been made way to bright in photoshop so they're out of balance with the rest of the face. Tone down the eyes, and you have a very nice portrait.

Hello! This is a WONDERFUL PHOTO.....it would make a great painting reference for a portrait. Is this photograph of an artist named Walter Schroeder?

Can you tell me where you studied painting?

I found an old watercolor signed by Walter Schroeder and was trying to find out more about him....if you could help?
