Another color vs. B&W comparison that I'd love your input for. If you didn't see the other pairs of shots, check this folder ... they're still here.

This was NOT taken on the safari. This shot is from the Rothschild Giraffe Center, right in Nairobi. It's a center for education about giraffes ... and I believe that they do some breeding there as well. Anyway - you can feed the giraffes and interact with them here. It's where I took the two pics of those beautiful little girls (same folder).

I definitely had the opportunity at the Giraffe center to get closer to the giraffes than I did when I was on the safari. I'm going to upload this both in color and in B&W. I'm trying to gauge which is more appealing. I've got several animal shots that I'm going to do the same with ... upload both a color and B&W, looking for you to compare and contrast the two....

I think that this is one of my more favorite compositions. Is the DOF shallow enough? Do the horns disappear into the background? Your thoughts?

Lou Ann ... I really like what you're doing here. Just out of curiosity, I'd like to see this image with all four corners burned some. Don't know if that would hurt or help, but it would be worth checking. What you captured here is almost abstract ... very cool stuff. I'm going to go through your whole batch of new stuff this weekend. I'd also recommend looking at Marina Cano's and Cesar Fernandez's giraffe pics if you haven't already. Two of the very best. Also, check out the October issue of Outdoor Photographer ... one of mine is in there. Hope all is well. Billy D
