paula grenside 0 Posted October 1, 2007 After the song: Gir Disappearing by Tori Amos Link to comment
anthonyd 0 Posted October 1, 2007 If I'm right, the figure of the disappearing girl is on the left. Had it not been for the title, I don't think that the figure is noticeable enough to realize what it is. I really don't care though. This is just such a feast for the eyes and wonderful to wander through! ~Anthony Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted October 1, 2007 Thanks, Anthony. Yes, she is on the right...and disapparing:-) Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted October 1, 2007 For me this is a beautiful and magic forest but I am not sure to see a girl, disapearing or not. Is it this indefinite blue shape on the right ? Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted October 1, 2007 Yes, Henri, on the right. How strange: I thought I hade made her even too visible. Thanks Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted October 1, 2007 If not for the title, I won't be looking for the girl, as I was captivated by this magical forest. Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted October 1, 2007 Another outstanding piece with eye catching result, Paula!!! Best regards Link to comment
treeffe 0 Posted October 2, 2007 Great work, a magical woods where the vanishig girl is just a flash vision, a dream! Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted October 2, 2007 Very good rendition,Paula. Are you testing whether we are suffering from myopia or hyperopia?:-) Link to comment
kareng 0 Posted October 3, 2007 This is excellent. Very mysterious.. took me a second to find the girl, but its very very cool. Nice work. Karen Link to comment
alibek 0 Posted October 3, 2007 "there was no protection by this urban light...so I'm running to a constellation where they can still see you" And this is what I thought... you've frankly nailed the feel you get after the song. It's more of siblinghood than feminism - it's like we're getting back to life, to all essential - in this light, it doesn't matter who we are. It's an attempt to stop searching the truth via debates... and come to point where we transcend the vision into THIS. It actually reminds me of "Great Expectations"... plus on the side of that, I find criscrossing of the twigs be same kind of enigma like an artwork of the "Premonition" movie. You've made the girl invisible yet present in the right [she's barely admitted by the most... me too at first]. Wornderful technique... it's really a kind of magic. Somewhat adjacent to grotesque, I dare to say;) Thank you for sharing Paula. Alibek Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted October 4, 2007 Thank you so very much for the kind comments which I highly appreciate. Alibek, what a great comment with associations and memories. It's great when an image causes all this, and I am grateful mine did it. Thanks again Link to comment
kasey wilson 0 Posted October 5, 2007 Hmm, I don't see the girl, either! But what I do see is like a spirit, something that maybe is supposed to be unseen, but the viewer catches a glimpse from the corner of their eye. Magical, ethereal. My first thought was that this is the forest in "Bridge to Terabithia," and the girl that is disappearing is Leslie, gone from the real world to live forever in the fantasy one. Very cool, I like it lots! :) KW Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted October 6, 2007 Thank you- well, it is a sort of spirit, but a girl, too:-) Link to comment

bob_belanger 1 Posted October 6, 2007 I can see her, but I have to really work at it and use some thought. Kind of a cool interpretation. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted October 7, 2007 This is almost an apparition or hallucination. I feel like rubbing my eyes a couple times to see whether she materializes or disappears. Lovely forest. Link to comment
