marcadamus 1 Posted September 30, 2007 To photograph the landscape is to see everything. Far and near, inside and out, the grand and the intimate. Here is another portrait depicting a smaller scene than my portfolio of dramatic landscapes might suggest. Link to comment
gdanmitchell 0 Posted September 30, 2007 Marc, the composition is wonderful - and that is a very difficult thing with a subject like this. (Though the astonishing colors don't hurt either... ;-) Dan Link to comment
hopsage 0 Posted September 30, 2007 I like this new direction or yours, Marc! Although I admire your dramatic works, I've always been partial to the few intimate landscapes in your portfolios here and on Smugmug.I can't really tell from the image, but what was the light like, and how close is the overall color temperature here to the actual scene? Are the yellow/red leaves in the background backlit, or was this taken pre or post sun with a warm sky color?Where was it taken, anyway? (I was just up at Clear Lake last weekend, and the vine maples were amazing there. Tried to take my camera up McKenzie Pass this past Friday but got turned back by car trouble ...) Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted September 30, 2007 Hi John, Light was rather ambient but from the back/right at about 11am under thin overcast. Color temp. was +1000 or so from the RAW and reds were bumped a little too. Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted October 1, 2007 Marc, Beautiful placement of tree-trunks and the colors. I don't want to speculate on what has been done on original. All I can think is that this is very much like a painting art. Very beautiful, very thoughtful. +Lalit Link to comment
cfreemanphotography 0 Posted October 1, 2007 I love how this is more a painting than a photograph. It's like a hyper-painting. Beautiful and considerate composition! I come from New England and am used to such sights (although this year was so dry that we probably will not have a very good show this year) and still this looks excellent to me! Well done. 6/7 Link to comment
