Many thanks for viewing and rating + comments/suggestions if any.

Another photo from Himbas. Himba women are covering themselves with

a mixture of butter fat, ochre, and herbs to protect themselves from

the sun. The mixture gives their skins a reddish tinge. The mixture

symbolizes earth's rich red color and the blood that symbolizes

life. Women braid each others hair and cover it in their ochre

mixture. For more info --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himba

is it a pen the kid plays with? i love this photo. even though i don't know, the kid and his mother don't know, maybe nobody knows if the pen itself will make different for these people with a unique culture and civilization. i wish they can live and have the resources needed to live the way they choose, peaceful and undisturbed. thank you for showing this to us. best regards, lin.

You can read the 'Disaster and Adversity' chapter of the Wikipedia link I did provide to understand what they went through. And you can also read the 'Resurgence' chapter which describe very well how things are at present. Don't worry to much for them. They are indeed keeping their culture and traditions, but we are in the 21st century, so yes things are changing, and for example the government of Namibia has provided mobile schools for Himba children. Thanks for your critique, which has also allowed me to find your superb portfolio !
