Saw Veronica in a pub with friends and couldn't resist taking a shot

of her even though it's late at night. 1/2 sec, F/4, ISO640.

Nice exposure Alec, backlit hair on crown of head is a good touch here. This is slightly different to what I'm used to seeing from you, this portrait appears quite candid, torso is angled and head tilted - and yet I picked it as your work instantly! Skin tone is very real and a nice direct eye contact with the camera - great use of a faster lens! Exposure is spot on apart from the blue colour blown light in top left frame which is easily fixed if you want to.

Very good portrait of Veronica. Exposure,DOF,light and colours are superb and in keeping with the high standard of Alec.

Thanks Ivana, Sircar. Matthew, yes I did not omit the blue street lamp glow on the left purposely to show it is reflected on Veronica's hair. Light was natural but I used 3000K light balance on the camera.

Excellent light and tones. I just wish the scooter was not cropped...with the full scooter in view, it would have given a very stylish prop to the model.
