..even though "this ain't no rose"...it is nevertheless a lovely picture.

Are the clouds in the background real? or are they photoshopped in? ..whichever way, it is, as I've said, a great picture....Bert

Nope, Not the yellow rose of Texas.... The only problem I see is the clouds, they seem a bit overdone. All in all, nice photo. Thanks for sharing. p.s. I have a Texas rose on my site, if ya care to look...

Shannon... I'm not sure what you mean, as I did nothing to the clouds. I did shoot at a medium telephoto focal length for the composition, and that brought the clouds in closer and more out of focus, but that's a function of the focal length and aperture I selected. You'll have to clue me in.

I love the contrast of the bright flower against the dark clouds. very nice
