leo burkey 0 Posted September 18, 2007 The general store which was once a staple in rural America is all butextinct now and that saddens me. I will miss the quaint atmosphere andcolorful people. I handled this image much the same as I always doexcept for two things. The first was the sky which was quitemonotonous and the clouds lacked volume. A curves layer help a greatdeal but but not near enough. So I duplicate the sky curves layer andchanged its blending mode to multiple and dropped it's opacity to 44%.The once flat clouds now had contrast and volume. I toned withEkatalure Cream and as a finishing touch I changed the mode to RGBadded a new layer and painted the white road stripes yellow.Decreasing the opacity of this layer faded the yellow to an acceptablelevel. Your comments are welcome as always. There is another copy onmy page without the yellow striping. Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted July 17, 2012 Vintage! I love the balance of this image--with the dark of the trees on the right side, and the white store on the left, and the road bisecting and neatly curving off into the distance. Good eye to see this one, and to see it as a black and white, Leo! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
