davidmccracken 2 Posted September 18, 2007 David's latest model said that she didn't mind posing nude for an artist... so he painted her a picture! Just a bit of fun. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
billkantor 0 Posted September 18, 2007 Made me laugh. From your description it sounds like that was your intent. Very well executed too. Although I feel that the stick figure and the tree are not to scale. Just kidding. Thanks for sharing. Bill Link to comment
yves_p 0 Posted September 18, 2007 6/6 for the model and the photographer. 2/2 for the paintings. Yves P. (http://imagesyves.net) Link to comment
glenwoodsherry 0 Posted September 18, 2007 David, I have never "awarded" anyone on PN a 1/1 rating, but I just might have to reconsider after seeing your "artwork"! So much for my referring to you as an ARTIST. Gave me a great laugh, so I give you a 6/6 for the concept and photography; a 7/7 to the very pretty model for being a good sport; and a 1/1 for your painting skills. (Umm, is it possible to give a negative rating?) Most entertaining. Glenwood (A REAL painter, and so-so photographer) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 19, 2007 I like the photograph as a whole. The model's naturalness appeals to me...she appears to be wearing little, if any, makeup...which is always a plus. I also like the way her right hand is sort of peeking over the edge of her left arm. Her expression is good, though I might have asked her to drop and/or relax the left shoulder a bit because, for me, it adds a bit of tenseness or defensiveness to the image which is at variance with her facial expression. Very good color work. I can't complain about your art work because I couldn't have done any better, myself. She's a lovely young lady and you have captured her well. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 21, 2007 Bill, I am glad this made you laugh. I do like humour. As for the painting. Maybe the stick character is large or the tree is small. The question is, does art have to be to scale? Yves, I am humbled that you should stretch to 2/2 for the painting. Glenwood, I have to be honest and say I have never seen your home decorating programmes or any of your paintings. That said, I am totally willing to believe you are better than me... at least a little. Thanks a lot. Jim, An interesting comment which seems to contradict itself. If I read it correctly at first you are saying the model looks like a natural and later you say she seems tense. Indeed this may be more true than you think. The model is quite young and wanted to try new things. Time constraints were against her and we didn't as much done as we would have liked. Link to comment
glenwoodsherry 0 Posted September 23, 2007 David, I would not say "better": I have never had such a pretty canvas to work on! So that puts you way ahead of me in the "Creative painting" category. I may just have to expand my painting repertoire, just to keep up! Glenwood Link to comment
