Sorry that I can't be too constructive. I would say that I am not sure if it would work better with just the one bird OR perhaps if the two back birds were posing in a different way. A very well captured shot nonetheless.

Hi David, that's why I called it to be first on someone (ELS) list ;D

--Els, and I have them posed also in the correct way, whatever that is? but I did choose for this, and thanks for your comment, consructive or not, I am happy with it

Els, I really like the black background that the pink and yellow pelicans are standing against - how did you get them to stand still while you hung up black felt behind them? ha, ha.

I really like the multitude of shapes and relationships to each other in this shot. The curves of the neck of the two on the right match and duplicate and attention can be given to the shapes because the eye of the one in the rear is blocked, I like that.

The two in the forground, although not in the same plane, have their lower necks touching forming a kind of embrace which brings a nice feeling to the image.

The only comment I could make to push this image to the next level would be to enhance the catch-light in pelican's eye. I think that would bring a little more life and impact to the overall image. I could be wrong though, just a thought.

Els, this is a really great capture you have here.

One of the most lovely pelican shot that I have seen. Lovely colours , textures, clarity & sharpness. The 2 pelican behind does not disturb me, their hidden head make me wonder whether they are having a cosy & loving moment.

A massa and paolo, thank you both for leaving a comment

your 'just a thought' is much apreciate Kirk, for sure, and I once did realy make a picture, asking my ex to hold a black velvet curtain... hahahaha, now I am happy with PS, the background was already very dark, but there were some distructive leaves of plants

Thanks cherlyb, that's a beautifull comment

Richard Hans, always happy with your visit and comment

Cary thanks and Amal, yeahhhhhhhhhh different strokes from me, but I have more for sure ;D

You always seem to show these birds at their very best and once again you have an excellent image to prove it!

The more the merrier! My only criticism, and I hesitate giving any because you're such a gifted photographer, is the jagged removal of background between the birds' necks (2 biggest areas). Or did you mean to do that? Cheers -

Dear Shawn, pelicans are posers, so I give them al the credit, I just have a camera, and click.... or something

Thanks Mark, very nice you think it is terrific

yes 3 birds and I put the original with it for you Alberta, I shoot my pictures in a very very big format, so I can crop without loosing all those pixels>>>>> so you can see didnot do a lot between those two necks

Thanks david for your high quality comment, love it a lot

Thank you for sharing the original, Els. The original is such a fine shot, I bet you could get a dozen different excellent results cropping differently, playing with the light, etc. You've given me much food for thought. Cheers.

I am happy that it gave you food for thoughts Alberta

Hi Ken, I completely disagree with you, happy we all look with different eyes, only one bird would not give the effect, what it has now, and that's what I wanted to show, but thanks Ken, for giving me your opinion, always happy to get comments....
