The son of one of the women I worked with in Nairobi. This guy was a little sweetie. I cropped it a bit to get what I liked here. Again, are the hot spots too hot?

i could drown in those eyes! i would crop in even tighter from the top - to just above the eyebrows. i don't find the hot spots troubling in this one at all.

I was thinking the exact same thing as Linda - that you could get lost in those eyes. Very compelling shot, Lou Ann. I also agree with her about cropping even closer to really dramatize his eyes. You can easily tone down those hot spots by using the brush tool in PS, set on about 20% opacity. Pick up a color close to the hot spot and just paint over it carefully.

Wow - thanks you two! He is an adorable little guy. And, yes, Kim - I know I need to be practicing those PS techniques. You say easy - I'm going to have to admit that I'm a bit intimidated. I really have some time set aside this week to work on that PS Classroom in a Book that I started a couple of weeks ago ... I'm going to be 5 days at a cabin with some friends up in the mountains ... no cell phone reception or internet. LOL!

I'll have to agree with both Linda and Kim on the eyes and the crop, but I have to admit that I would not have thought about the crop on my own. I'm just an old man who has only raised cats and never had any children. But the eyes of this child could melt me faster than any cute kitten could. A great shot of another world, but not much different either.
