On a hillside overlooking a sun-baked field full of weeds and

wildflowers, this English Pointer locked up on an invisible hen

quail. In the warm, still air, the bird's scent didn't travel very

far, and it was hiding in the cover just two paces in front of the

dog. Her experienced nose still worked in the tough conditions,

though, and her body language was electrifying. Thanks for looking,

and for comments.
