bosshogg 4 Posted September 10, 2007 If beauty is the message you are sending, then you have certainly succeeded. The processing is very well done. Link to comment
tbonemah 0 Posted September 10, 2007 I like the depth and the painterly feel. It's not the type of shot that I typically go for...but in this case I am very attracted to it. Link to comment
mwkangas 0 Posted September 10, 2007 Beautiful shot...I dont think the frame does it justice though. Keep it up! Regards, Mark Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted September 10, 2007 Very beautiful view. I regret that this post is just in front of the lake. I think you would have not include it in the composition. Link to comment
papasan 0 Posted September 10, 2007 Hi Linda, Lovely shot. I like your composition. I think the post provides a perspective and a sense of depth for your image. I may have put it slightly more to the left though but its part and parcel of your image. Great reflection in the river, and nice use of the sinuous line of the water to draw the eye through the composition. I agree with the comment that the frame doesnt' do justice to your photo. I would prefer a black or white frame that wouldn't compete with the image for attention. All in all very well done, well seen and captured. Regards - michel Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted September 10, 2007 David, Terry, Thanks for your comments. I appreciate it. Mark, I think you may be right about the frame. I was going for a taupe-ish colour, but it looks like an ugly olive here. Thanks for your comments. Henri, Thanks for your comments. Actually that's a river, the North Thompson, the salmon are beginning to run now. Michel, Thanks. I took some shots with the post in different positions, and some without the post. This was the one that I like the best all around. You are the second person to say the frame doesn't add anything. Black and white are always safe. Link to comment
tgood 0 Posted September 11, 2007 Very rich photo, Linda. I love the calmness and the beauty of this photo. Link to comment

henrimanguy 0 Posted September 11, 2007 "Actually that's a river". Sorry Linda. It is obvious. I wonder how I took it for a lake. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted September 11, 2007 Henri, On this day the river does look a bit like a lake because it is so still. It is like a mirror. Depending on the day, time of year, it is always different, sometimes a raging, overflowing flood, others it is calm and peaceful. Cheers. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted September 11, 2007 I'm glad you "posted" this. Get it? Ah, well, moving on. I'm glad you included the post to give a sense of immediate foreground, which helps to add distance and depth to the shot. It was quite an effective choice. I can rest temporarily on the post and then jump over the barbed wire and roll into the scene. Visually speaking of course. I would never trespass. Link to comment
vancouverphotographer 1 Posted September 14, 2007 Wonderful shot - one of the best landscape shots I've seen ... I would like to be able to "see" and take a shot like this one day. Link to comment
thinhnguyen 0 Posted September 15, 2007 Very good perspective. Far, far distance...., it seems the river go forever.... Link to comment

margaret1 0 Posted September 22, 2007 Jeff, maybe you are trespassing and are on the other side of the barbed wire! It would be worth the trespass to get this view. Everything works about it. Wonderful image. Link to comment
