danbliss 0 Posted September 7, 2007 Leslie Battjes suggested an alternative cropping of an earlier post of mine (Thanks Leslie). So what do you think? (Hmmm. The first rating was a 4/4. We'll see how this goes.) Dan Link to comment
srr 0 Posted September 7, 2007 Since you asked ... I like the shot and the crop (did not see the other one). Nice fore, mid and back. On my monitor (calibrated PC) the sat is a little heavy. And i wonder if the rocks could be sharper (usm, edge or high pass?) If I were to rate now, I'd still say 5/5. You could probably even increase the highlights quite a bit wighout blowout. danstan 0 Posted September 7, 2007 I love the image. The light and color are interesting. Love the way the rocks at bottom catch some light and the larger rock situated off center in the light. The only thing i see is the color on top of the larger rock, don't know if that is light catching part of the rock or what, i assume it is? Great composition. db Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted September 7, 2007 Scott, thank you for your comments. Daniel, the sky above the yellow-orage is deep purple. The spot on the rock is an amazing reflection of the sky, but it gets a bit lost at this scale. Dan Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted September 7, 2007 Wow, Dan...it's amazing how different these are and they're the SAME shot! I think I'd clone out that reflection on this one only because it seems out of place, but definitely leave it in the original. By the way, I love the deep saturation and the smoothness to the rocks and water. Very cool to have two great shots from one! :) Les Link to comment

gordonjb 10,860 Posted September 11, 2007 Hi Dan; I have to say I prefer this crop over the first one. It just feels more balanced to me. The placement of the rock off shore works better in this crop and it's connection to the rubble on the shoreline seems more defined. I also prefer the colour palette being narrower. In the other crop all that blue interferes with the mood created by the warm colours of the setting sun. Yet another great shot. Link to comment
jannabin 0 Posted September 18, 2007 This is wonderfull!!!!!!!!!!! Love the colors, the simplicity, the light, the sphere. Nice detail is the (water) circle before the rock lighting up. Really gorgeous. Congrats. Link to comment
