My First Concert Shoot-l973-was Frank Zappa. Found this print I made at the time. Wish I had the negatives. Not great stuff but great artist and memory.

Kodak tri-x 400 iso black and white film, probably pushed to 1600 and probably shot with a pentax k1000 and a 135mm f4 lens

Many concerts followed but this was special because it was my first one and it was FRANK

ZAPPA for goodness sake. I wish Frank was still here and I wish I could go back in time to

reshoot

it. My skills at 19-years-old and this being my first concert, I didn't fail but it wasn't that

great. I don't

have the negatives anymore either. I found this print in an old box from then and scanned it.

please leave your comments. I appreciate it.

Art. This is history. There are so many photos that are the same.. same same same (and still get high marks for originality).. THIS can NOT be duplicated. Thanks for Sharing.

Frank Zappa played at an out-door festival in Oslo that summer, and I was supposed to go. I dropped it to wait for a girl I fancied who was supposed to come home from holiday, and her plane was late. It didn't even last, and all the people I know who were there still talk about the concert and rate it on the ultimate Top 5 here! What a wasted day!

This picture reminds me of so much of my youth, Art (I was 20), and even if your other pictures are of much higher technical quality, this one is priceless.
