A summer Festival is now taking place near the sea front close to Tel-Aviv. The concept is funny , humorous, and original. Many choreographers and dancers are participating in that festival.

7 cabins with peep shows holes were built ( holes in the fabric), and in each of them dancers are performing. the audience, passeres by, will have to see it through the peeping holes....hard for photography, but I think I have some good results despite the difficulties. Some of them I have created as triptychs and diptychs , to better present the concept...

Choreographer: Sally ann Fridland

I upload the color version as well, interested to hear your impressions about the two versions, thanks

Pnina, interesting concept. "a clean concept of a peep show". I like the color image better. Best Regards

I like the fact that your images give the two sides of the wall...woman seeing a man disguised in a woman is original for a peep show where both genre are usually on the other side...:-)...I like the composition and mix...I prefer the color version because the colors do match well together and the image is more vibrant...

Thanks Ali, Michael and Laurent.

Laurent, the peepers are looking at a woman and not a man disguized.... I will upload more of the woman dancers, with the funny wigs. The idea was a theater/dance with the peeping project, and not to imitate the sex industry....

Thanks for your comments.

A unique capture. A real stand-out among recent photos (all photos, not just yours). I like this one because it's well done AND it actually tells a story of some sort. The story is not told directly, but enough hints and pieces of information are offered that I can conjure up an interesting storyline.

Nicely done.

I like this and in my eyes the B/W works well and helps to cut the scene in two almost equal parts; The "peepers" domain and the dancers domain. The scene becomes even more interesting because the dancer seems to peep on the peepers and she has even her own peep hole behind her. To that can be added of course us peeping on all three !! A complex and interesting scene with tention. I would maybe crop the left side slightly (until the back of the second lady) to underline the direction of our attention.

Innovative and good concept of combining two images into one, for better appreciation,Pnina. Both images are very good.My preference is the B & W image. Now I can see they are acting and not really peeping. We too have seen such performances in our village fairs.

Thanks Cherlyn, and Jim!

Jeff, Thanks for your very fluttering and extensive comment ! I'm glad you can make a story out of it!

Anders, nice interpretation. Yes we are an added peepers as well ;-))Thanks for your nice impression, and offer, I tried it, but in my eyes it is better ballanced with the black line on the L side

Alberto, thanks for your always nice support.

Amal, last here but not least!! you are a good friend and interpreter! thanks as well.

Thanks to all of you, really all of you made my day!

I think the color version accomplishes something a little different. For me, it brings out the dancer much more, so that she becomes more the subject and the "peeping" women fade a little to the background. I prefer that perspective but it would all depend on what you want to say and how you want us to see. More generally, I would say the colors add life and also give the photo a more contemporary and even artlike feel that seems appropriate to the image and the situation you describe.

Additional thoughts: I also thought it was a man. Whether it is or not, that impression may be created for some. You mention that the intention of the project was not to imitate the sex industry. "Imitate" is probably too strong a word and would not quite capture it. But, to me it seems quite natural that people experiencing the event and/or seeing your photos would invoke the sex industry peep show motif. It seems a very apt play of imagery and theme and it certainly came to my mind as an irony and reference.

I think you have done a superior job with these photos, both as documentarian, translator of an event, and maker of art from art.

I think that irony is the right definition to the whole....I think that the organizers of the summer festival knew that the concept will have the added connotation of the peep show in the other industry, but filling the cabins with dancers, was shifting it to another context, to an irony/art form. I thought that uploading it just with the dancers without the peeping people will be a souring of its significance.

I think as well, that combining it with the peepers made it like " theater of peepers"... the IN photo peepers, , and the viewers of the image as another peepers...

Thanks for expressing your impressions in large.

It is facinating to me that as I am here in my daily endeavors that a Summer festival takes place in Tel-Aviv and unbeknownst to me but by your photographs and words do I realize that the moments actually occur.

It is joyful to realize the world has become so small and our knowledge has become so large;

and so, a wanderlust is still created by the tales from afar. Thank you, Pnina.

A festival in Tel-Aviv, well what do you know... (amazing)

(What is not before my eyes I can only imagine - How often I travel and how readily I forget...)
