pascalagneray 0 Posted September 6, 2007 This is a very strong picture. I love the light and tones in the dark areas. Link to comment
bkris 0 Posted September 21, 2007 Thanks for rating one of my photos. I absolutely love the transission from dark to light from right to left in this photo. Throw in the silhouette and I'm a huge fan of this picture. Also, the details in the clouds are awesome. Great job. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted September 21, 2007 I was standing on our dock. We live on a canal just off the Intracoastal Waterway and the tree top is directly across from our house. I'm terrified of lightning and normally wouldn't be out in it but the storm was WAY far away (counting the seconds between the flash and the sound). Our dock is virtually the entertainment capital of my world :) Link to comment
shaynemiddleton 0 Posted September 22, 2007 What a stunning image! As mentioned already, the transition from dark to the bolt is great. -Shayne Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted September 22, 2007 Thanks for your comment, Shayne. Until last week, we hadn't had much rain or any lightning since late August when I snapped this one. But then a small but powerful cell came by and while the light/dark contrast isn't as good on this pic, the bolt that landed was spectacular. My needs were shaking. Good thing the camera was tripod-mounted! Link to comment

alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted October 5, 2007 Thanks for your rating and comment. Funny you should post tonight. I was out on the dock trying to capture more lightning. The storm cell was too intense, though, and with every strike the entire sky lit up bright white. But I'm sure there'll be a next time :) Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted October 31, 2007 Thank you. You have some very lovely and strong images in your portfolio as well. I think we might have the globe covered :) Cheers Link to comment
bobamac 0 Posted November 20, 2007 Great Capture Alberta. I like the way the clouds and palms are lit. Keep shooting. Bob Link to comment

srr 0 Posted December 3, 2007 Looks like you have it down, but email me if you want some tips on shooting lightning - both a good link I found on the web and some things I have learned on my own. ... On the other hand, you have fireworks too, so I think you know all you need to know. I'll be looking forward to some more (safe) lightning shots. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted December 3, 2007 Thanks for your comments and offer. I will take you up on the email advice. We haven't had a bolt of lightning nor a drop of rain in what feels like forever down here! On the bright side, that gives me plenty of time to read up on "how to" :) Cheers - Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted May 7, 2009 Spectacular and frightening. You had perfect timing in capturing this. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted May 7, 2009 We're in such a drought here in Florida that I haven't had a chance to try my hand at another lightning photo since shooting this one. I really enjoy your very diverse portfolio. Your "Dare To Stand Out" rabbits are darling. If you haven't yet found a good recipe for rabbit with mustard sauce, try here: Lapin à la moutarde. The first ingredient could be a problem though - "1 farm-raised or wild rabbit, cut into serving pieces, including the head if possible." Bon Appétit -Alberta Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted May 14, 2009 After a very prolonged drought, we finally have rain and thunderstorms in my area. Perhaps I'll get another chance to try my hand at this. Cheers ~ Alberta Link to comment
