carsten_ranke 0 Posted August 29, 2007 My favourite version of this motif, well composed. The sharpening for upload is overdone, IMO Link to comment

katzpjs 50 Posted August 31, 2007 I love your tall view of this and I'll bet it really looks great in a much larger view. A great job of framing this image! Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 3, 2007 Henri, This, your latest offering, works for several reasons in spite of the fact you've chosen a usually difficult light, that of the sunny midday. The red bloom (poppy?) at the bottom nicely anchors the scene with virtual diagonals leading from it to the rest of the major elements (trees, building) Even the building is framed by two tall trees, a composition within a composition. Much going on here with the various layers of colour throughout supporting the subject which I believe is the building (in spite of it's small prominence within the shot) Your title also provides a clue :-) . Even the relatively small mass of blue sky is broken up by interesting cloud patterns. Nothing here to bore one. Well seen & taken. Best, LM. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Thank you Len, you have said exactly the reasons why I took this photo, in spite of the difficult light (between 10 and 11 a.m.) Link to comment
whinterberger 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Very interesting image , Henri. I read Len's critique and agree with most of his points. You have found some attractive views of this chateau. This is a lovely shot , as usual. My personal preference may have been for the poppy ( a very important accent in this shot ) to have been placed more off centre , towards the left , thus opposing the chateau , but this is a minor point. Overall , congratulations. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted September 4, 2007 Very nice Henri. I agree with Walter about the poppy, a nice touch, but I would rather see it on the left, as a lead into the scence. It is a distraction to my eye, centred as it is. Otherwise, I love this, another incredible image. Link to comment
aeg 0 Posted September 4, 2007 Wonderfully sharp capture. Beautiful color and detail. How do you like the 10-20 Sigma lens. Best Regards Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted September 4, 2007 Love this captue, Henru; the ziz-zagging of lines ( like a path) leading to the castle. And that solitary poppy is great. Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted September 4, 2007 the poppy works as a center of gravity. brilliant composition with such a small but strong element Link to comment
davidorea 0 Posted September 5, 2007 Beautiful photograph, Henri. The point of the view is great. A delight of vertical composition and atmosphere. Regards Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted September 8, 2007 Another lovely landscape, Henri. You were on a roll that day! :-) I love the tiny bit of red in the foreground ... and the tall trees draw my eye to the castle and then the lovely sky. Great work! Link to comment
